This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the ultrasonic examination based either on the automatic or manual scanning for the welds of carbon steel tubes and ferritic alloy steel tubes whose inside and outside faces are arc welded automatically in longitudinal direction or in a spiral state and which are 350 mm or over in outside diameter and 6 mm or over in wall thickness.
