This Standard specifies high carbon steel wire rods to be used for the manufacture of the hard drawn steel wires, oil tempered steel wires, hard drawn steel wires for prestressed concrete, galvanized steel wire strands, wire ropes, etc. It is not applicable to wire rods for piano wire rods.
