This Standard applies to wrought unalloyed and alloyed steels in the form or bright products which are intended for mechanical purposes, for example for machine parts. It is subdivided as follows: a) clauses 5 and 6: general requirements and tests; b) clause 7: case-hardening steels; c) clause 8: steels for quenching and tempering.
