This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies three testing methods of sub-ambient temperature flexibility for rubber and plastics hoses. Method A -- The sub-ambient temperature stiffness test shall apply to non-collapsible hose with a nominal diameter 25 or under. In this test, the increase of stiffness shall be measured as comparing the flexibility f hose at low temperatures and the standard temperature. Method B -- The cold bend test is a simpler, qualitative testing method suitable for control testing and is applicable to the hose with a nominal diameter 100 or under. Method C -- The cold compression test is the testing method for examining the cold temperature characteristics of hose and is applicable to the hose mainly with a nominal diameter 100 or over.
