This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the testing method for opacity of paper. The opacity herein means as follows: Apply paper packings of white and black standard plate to the sample and measure the respective reflectances by using green filter and express the ratio of the latter to the former by % to take it as the opacity, and further that indicates 100 % is taken as completely opaque paper.
