This Standard specifies the auditory signals used as a means to communicate the information about the feedback of operation or the condition of products at the time when the users including the people with visual disabilities, and the elderly people who suffer from lowering of eyesight and hearing use the consumer products. However, fire alarm sound, gas leak alarm sound and crime prevention alarm sound which are controlled by laws and regulations and, addition thereto, the electronic chime, sound guide and the sound peculiar to communication instruments such as telephone are excluded.
