This Japanese Industrial Standard mainly specifies the household water purifiers among water treatment implements with the function to reduce the dissolved substances, turbidity, etc. in tap water by using a filter medium. The water purifiers using the reverse osmosis membrane (the reverse osmosis membrane module) as the filter medium and the water purifiers of faucet integrated type are excluded.
