This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the following prescriptions for printing the set of characters to be used for opicial character recognition, hereinafter referred to as the \"ocr\". here,\"characters\" shall be as defined in JIS X 9001 and JIS X 9003. (1) optical characteristics of the paper to be used (2) optical and dimensional character istics of printed individual ocr characters (3) basic specifications for the position ocr characters printed on documents.
