This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies lifting fittings used for lifting the freight containers for international trade or domestic trade (hereafter referred to as \"containers\") at their upper parts by means of corner fittings specified in JIS Z 1610 and JIS Z 1616, and fittings used for securing the containers on motor truck or freight-train car by means of those corner fittings or th securing fittings. This standard does not apply to the fittings for lashing the containers loaded on ship.
