This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the evaluation method for degree of metamerism of a pair of samples which the tristimulus values are in matching or approximately in matching even though the spectral characteristics are different (hereafter referred to as "metameric pair") under an illuminant which is taken as a reference (hereafter referred to as "reference illuminant") by degree that the tristimulus values come to unmatching whrn the illuminant is changed.
