This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies, in the case where the standard deviation of the population is known, the techniques to test whether or not it can be said that there exists a difference (either to be larger than the value or to be smaller than the value) between the population mean and the value given as a standard, on the basis of the measured values obtained from the population (or the lot thought to represent the population) (standard deviation of the population known, one-sided test).
