English

This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the method to estimate the interval in which the difference between two population means lies with a certain probability (for example, 95 %). This estimation is achieved by using measured values obtained from each population (or from a lot most representative of the population), in the case where the standard deviations of the two populations are known. (Standard deviations of populations known). The text of this standard describes the procedure for two sampes are equal in size. The case two sample groups; and if not, refer to Reference appended to the end this standard.
