This Japanese Industrial Standard specifies the significant test method to determine whether it can be said that there exists a difference between a population variance (unknown) and the value given as a standard (known) on the basis of the measured values obtained from and the population (or from the lot that can be considered to represent it well) (two-sided significance test).
