This specification covers the MX-8757/UPX and MX-8758/UPX interference blankers (defruiters) for the Identification Friend or Foe/Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (IFF/ATCRBS). It specifies the design and performance requirements for equipment which will elimate (defruit) from received IFF video those pulses (fruit) which are not synchronous with the associated interrogation cycle, while passing to the decoding equipment only those replies which are determined to be synchronous.
