This specification covers quenched or quenched and tempered ultra-high-hardness wrought steel armor (UHA) plate for lightweight armor applications for ordered thicknesses from
0.098 inches (2.5 mm) up to an ordered thickness of 0.630 inches (16 mm), inclusive (see 6.1, 6.2, and 6.3). The major intent of UHA is an armor appliqué.
