This specification covers wrought magnesium alloy armor plate in nominal thicknesses from
0.250 to 3.000 inch, inclusive (see 6.2). The fusion weldability of these wrought magnesium alloy armors has not been fully tested or analyzed over this entire nominal thickness range. Therefore, these alloys should only be used as appliqué armor until a weldability study has been completed with acceptable results.
