This specification describes the defect limits allowed under three quality level classifications for the magnetic particle inspection of ferromagnetic forgings, castings, tubes, sheets, bars, etc. in the following fabrication stages: a. Unmachined or unwelded parts or materials. b. Machined parts. c. Weldments: for purposes of this specification, the term weldment refers to deposited filler metal and areas of base metal adjacent thereto which are likely to be affected by the welding operation.
