This specification covers the requirements for one type of propellent grain designated MK43 Mod 1. The grain consists of an extruded hollow cylinder made from N-5 sheet propellant with ethyl cellulose inhibiting material cemented on its periphery and both ends. It also has an end sleeve cemented on one end to facilitate a gas-tight seal between the grain and the motor nozzle.
