This specification identifies the requirements to be met when product definition data is delivered in the digital format of the Initial Graphics Exchange Specification (IGES, in accordance with the American National Standard (ANS) / United States Product Data Association (US PRO) standard. Discrete subsets and application protocols of the IGES entities are identified by class according to the application for which the digital data was prepared.
