This specification covers the general requirements for electromagnetic, RF hermetically sealed relays for use in electronic and communication-type equipment (see 6.1). These relays are designed to operate over the full range from low level to power switching with contact ratings up to 1 ampere direct current (dc). The failure rate level is established at a confidence level of 95 percent based on 1 million to 20 million cycles (see 1.3) at maximum ambient temperature (see 3.1).
