This standard establishes, unless otherwise specified, the minimum requirements for engineering acceptance for the operation, performance, and reliability of Exterior Lighting Devices, for military vehicles, with Light Emitting Diodes as the base of their technology for illumination and compliance with applicable SAE, United States FMVSS, Canadian CMVSS, STANAG, MIL Standards and Military Performance Specifications.

The lamps will be designed to conform to the photometric requirements of this standard and the associated standards referenced within this document where applicable. Representative production level samples will be used for verification of compliance as specified below in this document.
