This standard covers only visible defects for V-belts, that have a trape- zoidal cross-section, manufactured with natural or synthetic rubber compounds and rein- forced with cord, fabric or wire. Power is transmitted through the nonparallel sides of the belt. Timing belts or belts that transmit power through the inner face or bottom are excluded.
