Applicable to a group of related rectangular, multicontact, two-part printed board connectors with male and female contacts in conjunction with either solder or solderless terminations, eg wrap type. The attachment of the connector to the printed board is achieved by a series of cantilever solder tabs, distributed evenly on both sides of the board. This meets the following requirements: 1 direct replacement of a socket-connector by a two-piece mother and daughter board connector mated set, without the need for major packaging system design changes 2 easy access to both sides of a board without the use of plated -through holes 3 high-density packaging, without staggered pins and pads.
