Dit deel moet worden toegepast samen met de andere relevante delen van NEN 1010. In deze editie een scheiding aangebracht tussen de bepalingen afkomstig van IEC- en Cenelec-normen en de Nederlandse bepalingen. Dat houdty in de de inhoud van de rubrieken die ook voorkomen in IEC 60364 gelijkgetrokken is met die van de desbetreffende rubrieken in de HD en IEC-normen. De rubrieken waarvoor nog geen IEC-norm bestaat zijn overgebracht naar deel 8.
