Deze norm beschrijft een methode voor de bepaling van het kiemgetal van melk en melkproducten. De eerste druk van deze norm is verschenen in 1951 als N 1507, de tweede druk is verchenen in april 1961. Wijzigingen ten opzichte van de tweede druk zijn: - Behalve op melk is de norm nu ook van toepassing op melkproducten; - De voorbehandeling van het monster en de bereiding van de verdunningen zijn achterwege gelaten, omdat die reeds in een andere norm zijn beschreven.
