NEN 2767-4 volgt de methode van de bepaling van de conditie van bouw- en installatiedelen als vastgelegd in NEN 2767-1. In deze methode is gesteld dat het technische aspecten van bouwdelen betreft. De risicoinschatting voor bijvoorbeeld de bedrijfsvoering en toenamen van onderhoud spelen geen rol bij de vaststelling en berekening van de conditiescore. NEN 2767-4 is van toepassing voor bijna alle typen aan infrastructurele werken met bijbehorende installaties en groenelementen.
