Deze norm beschrijft een methode voor de bepaling van het gehalte aan ruwe as in veevoeders en plantaardige en dierlijke veevoedergrondstoffen. De norm is van toepassing bij het onderzoek van veevoeders. Voor plantaardige en dierlijke vetten en olien, zie NEN 1046. De verkregen as kan worden gebruikt om de in zoutzuur (NEN 3330) of de in loog en zoutzuur (NEN 3331) onoplosbare as te bepalen.
