A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Deze norm beschrijft een titrimetrische methode voor de bepaling van het gehalte aan vrij koolstofdioxide. Deze norm is van toepassing op alle soorten water in het ketelbedrijf, waarin de bepaling van vrij koolstofdioxide relevant is voor de bedrijfsvoering. De bepaling wordt gestoord door ammoniumzouten en waterstofcarbonaat in iedere concentratie en door ijzer(II) in concentraties groter dan 3 mg/l. De storing door ijzer(II) wordt gedeeltelijk opgeheven door toevoeging van kaliumnatriumtartraat. Voor een nauwkeuriger bepaling zie NEN 6486.
