A Withdrawn Standard is one, which is removed from sale, and its unique number can no longer be used. The Standard can be withdrawn and not replaced, or it can be withdrawn and replaced by a Standard with a different number.

Deze norm beschrijft een methode voor de mercurimetrische bepaling van het gehalte aan chloride in water. De norm is van toepassing op alle soorten water uit het ketelbedrijf met een chloridegehalte van ten minste 0,3 mg/l. Bromide en jodide worden meebepaald. Nitraat, sulfaat, fosfaat, magnesium, calcium en aluminium storen niet, indien aanwezig in gehalten lager dan 1000 mg/l. Zink, lood, ijzer(II), nikkel en chroom(III) hebben invloed op de kleuromslag; gehalten lager dan 100 mg/l storen niet. Indien chromaat, ijzer(III) en sulfiet in gehalten hoger dan 10 mg/l en koper(II) in een gehalte hoger dan 50 mg/l aanwezig zijn, is de methode niet toepasbaar.
