    Defines criteria for verification of the design of steel, concrete and aluminium lighting columns by testing. Gives type tests so does not cover testing for quality control purposes. Applicable to post top lanterns with columns not exceeding 20 m in height, and lighting columns with brackets not exceeding 18 m height for side-entry lanterns. The criteria for lighting columns made from materials other than steel, aluminium or concrete, i.e. wood, cast iron and plastic, are not specifically covered.
