Deze Euronorm omvat de beschrijving van de werkwijze bij de interkristallijne corrosieproef in een milieu van zwavelzuur-kopersulfaat (zgn. Moneypenny-Straus-proef) alsmede een omschrijving van de doelstellingen. De toepassing van de interkristallijne corrosieproef in een milieu van zwavelzuur-kopersulfaat voor ferritisch staal wordt behandeld in de bijlage. Deze proef ter bepaling van de weerstand tegen interkristallijne corrosie geldt uitsluitend voor corrosievast austenitich staal, in de vorm van gewalste of gesmede producten, bestemd voor gebruik in een weinig oxyderend zuur milieu (bv. zwavelzuur, fosforzuur).
