Dit National Application Document (NAD) geeft frichtlijnen voor het gebruik in Nederland van de NVN-ENV 1996-1-2. De in dit document gegeven omkaderde waarden ("boxed values") van parameters worden in dit NAD niet gewijzigd. Bouwconstructies waarvan de brandwerendheid met betrekking tot bezwijken of de brandwerendheid met betrekking tot de scheidende functie is bepaald met de combinatie van NVN-ENV 1996-1-2 en dit NAD, mogen worden geacht dezelfde mate van brandwerendheid met betrekking tot de dragende functie of scheidende functie te bezitten als bepaald volgens de experimentele methode van NEN 6069. De hierbij behorende belastingscombinaties moeten zijn bepaald met NEN 6702, maar mogen ook zijn bepaald met NVN-ENV 1991-2-2, met he bijbehorende NAD. Nadrukkelijk wordt vermeld dat NEN 6069 hiermee niet is vervallen.
