Deze praktijkrichtlijn beschrijft methoden voor het bepalen van radioactief plutonium, americium en curium in monsters van verschillende samenstelling en herkomst. Dit gebeurt met behulp van radiochemische scheidingstechnieken. De praktijkrichtlijn is bedoeld om te worden toegepast bij de radiochemische bepaling van radioactief plutonium, americium en curium in monsters van biologische oorsprong, van water, op glasvezelfilters en van sediment en bodem. Voor het verkrijgen van goede resultaten is het noodzakelijk te beschikken over goed getraind en ervaren personeel. De radiochemische scheiding en de telling van het telmonster zal ten minste enkele dagen in beslag nemen.
