Deze mededeling beschrijft een methode om een chemische-analytische werkwijze te toetsen door toepassing van statistische beginselen op analyse-uitkomsten die met de betrokken werkwijze zijn verkregen. De statistische methode toetst uikomsten op herhaalbaarheid en afwezigheid van systematische afwijkingen door analyse-uitkomsten te vergelijken met die welke verkregen zijn bij de certificering van een referentiemonster van gelijksoortige samenstelling. De methode is van toepassing op alle stoffen, waarvan het variatiegebied van hun samenstelling voldoende wordt overlapt of ingesloten door referentiematerialen (standaardmonsters). Deze stelt het laboratorium in de gelegenheid de deugdelijkheid te toetsen van de metingen, uitgevoerd op een homogeen analysemonster met onbekend gehalte.
