Applicable to grades of wrought high-alloy materials, for use in intake and exhaust valves in reciprocating internal combustion engines. Applies to bars, wire, rod and forgings, and to surface finishes. Not applicable to alloys resistant to wear and corrosion used for protection of valve seat surfaces.
