Provides a guide for manufacturers, suppliers and distributors of consumables, describing the capability to manufacture, supply and deliver consumables for welding and allied processes to meet specific requirements. Defines quality requirements for the manufacture, supply and distribution of consumables, and is independent of the type of consumable concerned. May also be used as a basis for assessing and certifying the manufacturer, supplier and distributor in respect to his capability. A supplier or manufacturer of welding consumables, and qualified in accordance with EN ISO 9001 or 9002 shall be deemed to comply with this standard.
