La présente Norme européenne spécifie les caractéristiques et les méthodes d'essai des robinets préisolés préfabriqués isolés thermiquement constitués d'un appareil de robinetterie en acier, d'un isolant en mousse rigide de polyuréthane et d'une protection en polyéthylène pour utilisation sur des réseaux d'eau chaude enterrés directement comportant des assemblages de tuyaux préisolés conformes à l'EN 253:2003. La norme ne s'applique qu'aux robinets isolés fonctionnant en continu avec de l'eau chaude à diverses températures conformément à l'article 1 de l'EN 253:2003. Des lignes directrices concernant l'inspection de la qualité sont données en annexe A de la présente norme. Des lignes directrices concernant l'installation des robinets sont données en annexe B de la présente norme.
