    La présente partie de cette Norme européenne détermine les exigences dimensionnelles et les exigences qualitatives minimales (concernant les défauts optiques, d'aspect et du fil métallique) pour le verre armé poli, tel que défini dans l'EN 572-1, pour l'utilisation dans la construction. Cette partie de la norme ne s'applique qu'au verre armé poli fourni en feuilles rectangulaires et en dimensions standard. L'EN 572-8 donne des informations sur le verre armé poli fourni dans des dimensions autres que celles couvertes par la présente partie.
