Concerned with standard conditions and management methods on high definition television displays. May be used as an integral part of an HDTV receiver for direct off-air reception, reception via cabled networks or as a monitor for pre-recorded video, home movies and games, among other uses. Determines the performance and allows the comparing of equipment by listing of the characteristics useful for specifications and by defining uniform measurement methods for these characteristics. Does not define performance or general safety methods.
