    Ce document donne les conditions et les méthodes de mesure applicables aux petites stations terriennes (VSAT) de télécommunication par satellite. Il ne donne pas de valeurs limites admissibles pour les différents paramètres. La présente section de la CEI 835-3 traite des méthodes de mesure applicables aux petites stations terriennes (VSAT) du type émission/réception de données, destinées aussi bien aux réseaux en étoile (de nombreuses VSAT commandées par une station terrienne centrale (hub)) qu'aux réseaux point à point. Certains articles peuvent également s'appliquer aux VSAT de type réception seulement. Cette section ne traite pas des mesures concernant les équipements des stations terriennes centrales.
