La présente Norme internationale prescrit des méthodes d'essai de corrosion intergranulaire des alliages d'aluminium aptes au traitement thermique de mise en solution, sans revêtement protecteur. La sensibilité des alliages d'aluminium aptes au traitement thermique de mise en solution à la corrosion intergranulaire est fonction de la composition chimique de l'alliage, de sa méthode de production, de son traitement thermique de mise en solution et de son traitement thermique de trempe et de durcissement structural artificiel (vieillissement).
