La présente Norme internationale donne une terminologie pour les ventilateurs industriels courants et leurs éléments constitutifs. Un ventilateur industriel est n'importe quel ventilateur utilisé pour des applications industrielles, y compris la ventilation des bâtiments et des mines, à l'exception des ventilateurs de plafond, à colonne et autres ventilateurs brasseurs d'air tels que ceux employés pour des applications non industrielles.
