This document deals with the design, construction, operation, inspection and maintenance of compressed natural gas (CNG) fueling stations for vehicles, including safety and control devices and devices. This document also applies to parts of a service station where natural gas is in the gaseous state and where CNG derived from liquefied natural gas (LNG) is distributed in accordance with ISO 16924. This document applies to natural gas-fired service stations as defined by the applicable local regulations for the composition of gases or ISO 13686. It also applies to other gases meeting these requirements, such as biomethane , Recovered coal bed methane (CBM) and gases from LNG spraying (on or off site). This document covers all devices downstream of the gas supply connection (ie the point of separation between the CNG service station lines and the pipe network). Service station dispensing guns are not defined in this document. This document includes service stations with the following characteristics: - slow filling; - fast filling; - private access; - public access (self-service or with assistance); - service stations with fixed storage; - service stations with mobile storage (secondary station); - multi-fuel stations. This document does not apply to domestic CNG refueling devices without buffer storage. NOTE This document is based on the condition that gases supplied to the service station are odorised. For service stations using non-odorised gases, additional safety requirements are specified in Clause 10.
