This document defines a laboratory measurement method for the capture efficiency of welding fumes from flares. The procedure specifies only a methodology, leaving the user the choice of the test parameters, in order to be able to evaluate the effect of different variables. It is applicable to integrated torch systems and systems in which a separate extraction system is attached to the welding torch near the arc zone. The methodology is suitable for use with all continuous wire soldering processes, for all types of materials and welding parameters.
