Defines a procedure for determining the resistance to intergranular corrosion of austenitic and ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steels in a nitric acid medium by measuring the loss in mass (Huey test). In addition, it defines the purpose which may be assigned to the test. Applies only to austenitic and ferritic-austenitic (duplex) stainless steels in rolled or forged product form, tubes and cast products and is intended to be used in a strongly oxidizing medium, such as relatively concentrated nitric acid). The Huey test should not normally be used for grades which contain molybdenum unless the tested material is for use in nitric acid service.
