WATER QUALITY - ENUMERATION OF CULTURABLE MICRO-ORGANISMS - COLONY COUNT BY INOCULATION IN NUTRIENT AGAR CULTURE MEDIUM

Defines a procedure for enumerating culturable micro-organisms in water by counting the colonies formed in a nutrient agar culture medium, following aerobic incubation at 36 deg C and 22 deg C. Meant to measure the operational efficiency of the treatment process of public drinking water supplies and for generally applying to all kinds of water. Especially applies to the examining of water for human consumption, including water in closed containers and natural mineral waters.
