Gives guidance on the design of direct manipulation dialogues. The user directly acts on objects on screen, e.g. by moving them, pointing at them or changing their physical characteristics (or values) using an input device. Generally these objects fall into two categories, and are typically graphical, concrete, representations of abstract software or capabilities and structures. a) Interface object - Introduced into the interface so users can perform tasks related to the use of the computer application and system. b)Task object - Metaphorical representation of a real-world artefact manipulated to support the user's task
