La présente Norme internationale prescrit une méthode d'essai acoustique et établit les critères nécessaires pour évaluer la performance sonore d'avertisseurs montés sur des engins de terrassement et destinés à avertir le personnel du danger potentiel d'un engin se déplaçant grâce à sa propre force motrice, soit en marche avant soit en marche arrière. Les essais sont effectués sur un engin dans des conditions statiques.
