En complément aux normes NF EN 1846-2:2002, NF EN 1846-2/A1:2005, NF EN 1846-2/A2:2006 et NF EN 1846-3:2003, le présent document définit les caractéristiques particulières des camions citerne ruraux, utilisés notamment pour lutter contre les feux de structure et certains feux d'espace naturel, à l'exclusion des missions spécifiquement dévolues aux camions citerne feux de forêt (CCF), ainsi que les essais auxquels ils doivent satisfaire. Il fournit, en outre, pour chaque type d'engin, la liste minimale des matériels d'intervention, pour lesquels un volume doit être prévu, et précise ceux obligatoirement fournis.
