COMPONENTS OF AUTOMATIC FIRE DETECTION SYSTEMS - INTRODUCTION
01-05-1996
12-01-2013
Describes requirements, tests and performance criteria for assessing effectivity and reliability of the component parts of automatic fire detection systems in buildings. Can also be used for assessing components of systems for other purposes, e.g. mines, ships. Does not preclude the manufacture or use of detection systems with special characteristics for specific risks. Systems are required to operate under fire and other conditions, met in practice such as corrosion, vibration, impact and shock. May be applied to the detection part of extinguishing systems (with the exception of sprinkler heads) although sensitivity requirements may not be applicable throughout
